In the HATS and EGL courses, students will learn how to use IBM's HATS and EGL Tools to create new Web or Rich Client interfaces for their legacy 5250 and 3270 applications. Many companies still have a considerable investment in legacy applications on a variety of host platforms. The challenge for developers and end users is how to extend these 5250 and 3270 legacy applications to make them available via a Web browser or a GUI interface. The HATS and EGL Tools provide Web and GUI Enablement for these legacy applications.
